For Special Metals, I designed a complete rebrand. A project where identity, aesthetics, and meaning fused into one coherent whole.
All metals are chemical elements, listed in the periodic table. That idea became the foundation. Steel and stainless steel, Special Metals’ core materials, are alloys: fusions of different elements. This notion of merging elements shaped the entire design. The logo combines the visual language of the periodic table, the golden ratio, and the initials of Special Metals — blending chemistry, aesthetics, and identity. The wordmark continues this fusion: two typefaces joined into one. ‘Special’ is set in an elegant serif, refined and distinctive. ‘Metals’ is strong and straightforward. Together, they reflect the company’s balance of precision and craftsmanship.
A visual identity where every element connects — perfectly in harmony.
